Hello, I Just Met With A Lady Who Has A

Hello, I just met with a lady who has a disease which she said hardens her heart, eyesight, etc. loses balance and the name escapes me but it is two words first one begins with an m and second is a g, could you shed some light on that?
I work at a retirement community and she toured, but very quickly.
