Hello I Recently Had Some Wax Build Up And Went

Hello I recently had some wax build up and went to the doctor. He removed it using a syringe filled with warm water and medication and some anesthetic..he basiclaly flushed my ears all the wax came out. It felt great for about an hour after but since then my ear has gotten worse. Unless I take pain killers I am in a lot of pain; its a dull pain which sometimes hurts really badly for about 10 seconds and has been slightly itchy twice in the past two days. What is the problem and what should I do?
