I recently quit smoking and had an xray done for my chest. The doctor has seen some markings and wants me to do a CT scan to rule out pulmonary fibrosis (scarring). The question I have, because I have to wait 3 weeks for the CT scan, can bronchitis, asthma or a cold leave markings in the lungs? I'm anxious because of the waiting time and the doctor did not explain this himself to me, but had his receptionist call me to tell me this.
