Hello I Severely Injured My Back At Work Resulting In

Hello
I severely injured my back at work resulting in several herniated disc as well a spinal damage. I am currently in litigation as the have chosen to contest my claim despite the overwhelming evidence. I am currently taking Oxycodone/Acetaminophen 10-325, regardless I am still in severe pain. The pain level is sometimes so severe I find my self almost delirious. I was seeing a pain specialist who was slowly working me up to a stronger time released version of what I am on as well as something for the breakthrough pain, unfortunately the progress was stopped when his practice stopped taking my state Medicaid insurance. The pain specialist I am currently seeing has left me on the Oxycodone/Acetaminophen, showing no signs of continuing where my previous doctor left off. I am not happy about having to use prescription pain killers and am not the type to ask for narcotic medication but I cannot keep living with this level of pain. I have never asked for pain killers as I don't want to be labeled a having drug seeking behavior and am afraid to ask but I can no longer stand this pain. Is there anything I can do. How should I handle the situation.
