Hello! I Started My Period Last Month On The 17th

Hello! I started my period last month on the 17th of January (a Sunday) and had unprotected sex that wednesday/Thursday and my period stopped. I restarted my birth control after my period and then this sunday the 31 my period came back.. not sure whats happening.
