Hello. I Started Taking Contraceptive Pills On 25-Dec-16 And Due

Hello. I started taking contraceptive pills on 25-Dec-16 and due to some undesirable side effects I stopped taking it on 8-Jan-17. My last period started on 25-Dec-16 and ended on 30-Jan-17 (which was longer than usual - my period usually comes for 5-7 days maximum). Yesterday, I started to have my period again (though minimal). Is this abnormal? Why is this happening?
