Hello, I Wanted To Know If There Was A Traumatic

Hello,
I wanted to know if there was a traumatic open head injury in which cranial bone was splintered, is there a possibility that a bone splinter may have gotten into the cerebrospinal fluid and circulated now freely thereby becoming a possible danger (such as lodging into the brainstem)?
