Hello, I Was Diagnosed With OIC, While I Was In

Hello, I was diagnosed with OIC, while I was in the hospital last week, I don't feel like I have occasional constipation, it literally feels like a part of my large intestine or colon is DEAD, I've taken stool softeners and laxatives and still haven't had a decent bowl movement, could it be possible that a part of my large intestine is dead and nothing is able to pass, and would I have to have that part surgically removed? I knew someone that that happened too, is that heard of?
