Hello, I Was Diagnosed With Shingles Last Week. The Doctor

Hello, I was diagnosed with Shingles last week. The doctor put me on 300 mg of Gabapetin at bed time. The tingling pain in my arm and left back got worse. I went in today and she gave me Prednisone. I took the first dose of 5 10 mg tablets this morning. I do this for 3 days then taper to 4 mg, 3 mg.....
After reading about the side effects.....I want to stop taking it and just continue with the Gabapetin. Will it be harmful if I stop after the first does of 50 mgs taken this morning?
