Hello, I was in a car accident one year ago last Jan. This is where all this begins. It started with my left side ab having a burning, tingling pain. It progressed to my feet, and now up my legs. Last October 2014 a 10" x 4" x 2" protrusion on my left side of my left ab appeared. It is painful. I have a condition that looks identical to postherpetic paresis mimicking a hernia, but it is not a hernia. I have had 2 ctscans and 1 MRI. I have been to 2 dr.'s, 2 surgeons, 1 neurologist, and 1 pain specialist. None of them know what it is. Yet, each of them said it is not postherpetic paresis because I do not have shingles. The pain specialist gave me 2 epidermal injections around the t-10 area of the spine and 1 epidermal injection at the L-5 area. I have been diagnosed with a pinched nerve at the L-5 and two bulged discs right next to it. None of the Doctors know what I have. The last words from the pain specialist was this. You will live with the pain and the protrusion for the rest of your life. The general Dr. has since scheduled me for a colonoscopy. I keep trying to tell them that my problem is or has something to do with Postherpetic Paresis and they need to treat it as such. He has examined me and said. I do not have this because I showed him a picture of someone who had HZ Shingles. He says I do not have shingles so this is not possible. Yet, I have seen the pictures and what I have is identical. I told the Dr. that I have read that this Postherpetic Paresis can be caused by many different things but both he and the pain specialist just shrug that off. here is an identical and I mean exactly identical to what my ab looks like except I do not have the rash. I have also been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. A dr. did a quick test last October and it was 280. In January a further test was done. Quick test was 137. 90 day average was 167. Can anyone please help me. I am so frustrated, the pain is terrible to live with. I don't know where to go, the general Dr. now has me seeing a Dr. for a colonoscopy. I feel this will not help. I have contacted a neurolgy surgeon and was told he will only do surgery on the spine. He cannot see me for this bulge on my side. On a scale of 1-10. my pain goes up and down without reason. I can be at a pain 2 one moment and a level 5, or a 6, 8, 10. I never know how long. My ab protrusion pain goes up and down with the extent and coverage of my leg, knee, foot numbness and or tingling and burning. My knees feel weak, and sometimes my bones feel like I have a high temperature. Very achy. I do not know what to do. http://www.medicaljournals.se/acta/content/files/web/2385-web-images/2385fig_opt.jpeg
