Hello.. I was just diagnosed today with paraneoplastic syndrome. This was by a new neurologist that I just started going to, For the last 15 years, I was misdiagnosed as having Multiple Sclerosis. For 15 years, I was on Avonex, Neorontin ( 2700mg day ) clonazepam, and so many other drugs including Aricept. After 30 MRI's, this new Dr. said that there was NEVER and lesions or any reason to diagnose MS. Beginning next week, I am being started on the plasmapheresis program. What I am concerned about is what effect all of those MS drugs have caused to my body. I had to retire at the ahe of 43. I am now a 59 year old male who is pretty upset about this diagnosis, considering I was told today it may even cause more problems with my walking ability and thinking ability. What is your opinion??
