Hello, I Work At A Hospital, Were I Admit Patients.

Hello,
I work at a hospital, were I admit patients. I went to a Patient room where the IV machine was beeping. I informed the nurse in case they needed to work on the patient before I started to talk with them. The nurse never came in the room so I started my admitting process with the patient. I went threw all the information with the patient, while trying to obtain the signature of the patient I bumped the IV machine. I finished my process and left the room to wash my hands. Apparently the nurse returned to the room and the machine had paused. The nurse stated he asked the patient who cut the machine off and the patient pointed to me. The nurse called in and made a report stating I pressed the button to pause the machine. Now I'm under investigation for pressing pause on the machine, which I would NEVER do because it's hooked up to the patient for a reason. There was no reason for me to pause the machine seeing as I started and finished my interview with it beeping.Can the machine pause it self by being bumped and maybe a wire or something shifting out of place? I have another meeting today with my boss and the higher ups.
