Hello, I Would Like To Know What Prednisolone Acetate Ophthalmic

Hello, I would like to know what Prednisolone Acetate Ophthalmic Suspension USP drops really do for the eyes. The directions say to drop two drops, four times a day in the eye. I only feel a numbness in my left hand immediately after drops, which lasts a few seconds, then goes away. I still can't see any better after applying the drops so what are they good for?
