Hello, I'm An LMT (licensed Massage Therapist) Who Was Working

Hello, I'm an LMT (licensed massage therapist) who was working with a client yesterday who was having a new (as of yesterday) symptom of intermittent stabbing /sharp ear pains that she said felt like someone was jabbing her with a knitting needle and that also made her tense her shoulders and jump (She said it felt like small electrical jolts). Wondering if this is something she should go see her PCP for ..is it possibly a symptom of subacute thyroiditis? Is it something I should avoid massaging over?
Thank you for your time and considering my query! Charlene Crane
