Hello, I'm Having A Problem With My Right Hip. It's

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my right hip. It's been giving out on me when I walk backwards and when that happens it comes with pain. It recently has given out on me when walking forward as well on flat surface. I have not injured it doing anything that I recall and the majority of the time it doesn't bother me at all. What could be the problem?
