Hello, In January While Bathing I Noticed A Swollen Blood

Hello, In January while bathing I noticed a swollen blood vessel over my knee cap which as rather painful and very swollen (looked like a pen or something similar had been pushed under the skin). Later that day, im assuming it burst cause I was left with a large bruise and no more pain. I went to the doctor who didn't seem very interested, but did give me thrombophob to rub on it. Last week I had another, but this one didn't burst for two days. Again I am left with a large bruise covering almost the entire knee cap. I have since noticed a dull aching pain in the top of my thigh. Should I be worried and maybe see a different doctor?
