Hello, Is Someone With Myasthenia Gravis At More Risk During

Hello, Is someone with myasthenia gravis at more risk during surgery than the same person would be without MG? My sweetheart is having a herniated bellybutton operated on in a couple of weeks. He's also having severe stomach pains (that seemed to have started with taking Mestinon months ago, but he says the pains are worse this past week). Now,he's telling me his stool has been black for the last week or so. I'm very concerned because MG is a rare disease plus the surgeon and his other docs don't know about his black stool yet. His PCP tells him that he knows very little about MG. So going to him to ask about this issue I've described does not give me peace. Do you think I should encourage him to let me help him find a PCP who is an internist or has a specialty? I have his healthcare POA. I'm sorry. I know this is more than one question. Thank you very much. Gwendelyn.
