Hello. It Is My First Time Taking An Oral Contraceptive

Hello. It is my first time taking an oral contraceptive pill. It was prescribed to me by my doctor to help relieve period pain. Supposedly, it must be taken on the 8th day of your period, but it is already my 14th day when I first take it. Does that mean that my period (which is due in 14 days) will be delayed?
