Hello, I've Been Experiencing A Sharp Cramp In My Right

Hello,
I've been experiencing a sharp cramp in my right rear thigh, midway between my knee and butt.
I want to think its just cramping, but I'm not so sure. When this happens its paralyzing for about a minute.
the sharp pain goes and I'm left with a dull stiffness in this area. I'm 55, smoker, active carpenter.
i'm on a low dose blood pressure med. i have seen the doc recently for a lingering cough BP was fine at that time. kinda concerned.
