Hello! I've Been Taking Birth Control For Three Years, Everything

Hello! I've been taking birth control for three years, everything was on time and schedule. Last week I got my period during the third week or the cycle , from Thursday till Sunday. Right now is the week that I should be taking a "empty pill" and usually I was having my period during this week and this Sunday I would start a new pack. But now I'm worried , why did I have my period one week earlier even while taking birth control pills. And should I start new pack this Sunday, or have to wait for month, and use other contraception with my boyfriend?
