Hello, I've Been Taking Mirtazapine 45mg For About 6 Months.

Hello, I've been taking mirtazapine 45mg for about 6 months. I gained over 35 lbs. I started cutting the pill in half to ween off of it, and am getting no sleep. That is the reason why I started taking it. I was told by the doctor to cut it in half, and take 20mg of paxil at the same time. Is that safe?
