Hello. I've had several of these episodes, one that ended up with a 911 call.
My symptoms are random and seem to have my pcp and neurologist baffled.
The first episode started while I was sitting on the couch. I felt a sudden extreme amount of pressure on my right side. I felt awkward and tried to stand up, when I did I collapsed back on the couch as if I was being pushed down towards the left. My eyes were closed. When I finally opened them everything in both eyes were shaking back and forth rapidly. This made me very nauseous, but I did not vomit.
A week or so later it happened again. I was sitting on the couch. This time I just tried to stand up and collapsed, again like I was being pushed to the left. I couldn't even sit up. I was like a rag doll. I just kept falling to the left. My vision was gone except for bright lights shaking back and forth. All I could do was say 911 to my boyfriend. When the paramedics got there my pupils were fixed and dilated, pulse was threads, only 1 number on bp. They were saying stay with us.
When I got to the hospital I waited an hour to see a dr, another hour to have a ct scan. Several hours later a nurse came in and said everything was normal, you're being discharged.
My neuro put me on meclizine. I can tell it has help some. The last 2 episodes I've been able to stand, even though leaning to the left and very weak, and my boyfriend has been able to take me to the bedroom and make me comfortable.
I had an EEG today. I'm worried that since I wasn't having symptoms at the time that it won't show anything.
Whatever is going on is debilitating and making me scared to live my life.
Could you please narrow down some diagnosis' for me so I can open up a dialogue with my dr?
It really sucks when you feel like no one cares. He wouldn't have done the EEG if I hadn't said "isn't there anything you can do."
Thank you in advance for reading my story.
