Hello. I've Picked Up Some Kind Of Strange Biting Bug.

Hello. I've picked up some kind of strange biting bug. It causes people to scratch only at their face when they're near me, but they don't seem to carry it with them later on. It think it may be located in my scalp because my hair has dried out and is growing different. My question is...should I see my PCP for a check up and referral or go straight to a dermatologist for a scraping to identify the problem? It's very hard to live like this and I need answers quickly but dermatologist openings are hard to find and maybe a referral would speed things up. Thank you.
