My Father has COPD and has had a hernia in his stomach for over 4 years. The Doctors that we have spoke with say that they cannot operate because they can't take responsibility for what might happen to him if they put him to sleep. My niece asked me why don't they use an epidural? Could they do that with this particular type of surgery?
