Hello My Doctor Saw Me To Day And Asked Me

Hello
My doctor saw me to day and asked me if I wanted to start taking a small dose of Lipitor due to my age of just turning 60 years and having high blood pressure. Today's blood pressure was 138 over 88. I presently take Atenolol 100mg per day and Losartan Potassium 75 mg per day. My colesteral is not a problem and is 3.3. It is 1.6 for one of them and 5.2 for the other type of colesteral. Why is he recommending this move to taking Lipitor?
