Hello. My Husband Has A Dark Black, Large Spot That

Hello. My husband has a dark black, large spot that appeared below his right breast area overnight. It's oval shaped, similar to a large bruise, but black. He doesn't recall hitting anything overnight and it doesn't look like a bruise. What could it be?
