Hello, My Left Eye Has Been Watery And Slightly Gooey

Hello, My left eye has been watery and slightly gooey (clear/white - not yellow) for a few days. Not constantly - but on/off consistently. I've had no known trauma (other than wearing eye makeup for a performance that I don't normally wear - and around my eyes did get quite sensitive while cleaning it off) and there isn't really any pain, itching or swelling/discoloration that I can tell. I've been gently cleansing it daily and decided to leave contacts out today...and will be looking for drops tomorrow - anything else I can do to help it back to normal? I'm not into pharmaceuticals. =)
