Hello. My question is regarding life expectancy... I know that there is no definite answer, but perhaps with statistics I can get an idea...
My father is 78 (he will turn 79 in March), in April 2010 he had one hemorrhagic stroke, he had emergency surgery and while in recovery he had a second hemorrhagic stroke. After 45 days in the hospital he was released. He went through therapy for a few years. Since then he cannot drive, his vision is affected and he cannot live on his own. He is not physically impaired, he walks, dresses, eats on his own, etc. Obviously, mentally he is not the same, since 2010 he has a different personality and is unpredictable. Since 2014 I have seen signs of Alzheimers... He has very poor judgment, he believes his family is the enemy, he is easy to manipulate. He cries sometimes, he makes rude comments, he forgets many things and his judgment is off.
His mom had Alzheimers and his younger brother was diagnosed with Dementia. Physically he is in good health, but mentally not so much... I am wondering what his life expectancy is... Or if there are statistics that you can share in order for me to get an idea of what to expect. Thank you so much, we are going through a difficult time with the decisions he is making.
