Hello Doc, My Son Is 4years And 6months. From Past

Hello doc, my son is 4years and 6months. From Past 10 days he is having cough. Initially I gave chericof 5ml and cough was ssubsiding. yesterday oonwards he started to cough more so started with ascoril expectorant 5ml. Also i have applying Vicks on his nose, neck, back and soles. Just wanted to b sure if i am correct
