Hello doctor. I am writing over here because I am currently living in a foreign country and I can use my insurance only for emergencies. Even though my problem is not an emergency, I am afraid it might get worse.
I am 28 years old and I rarely drink. On Saturday I drank beer and the next day I was having stomach pain and I had a feeling as if it was swollen. That was on Sunday. Then, yesterday, I had constant pain on the left side of my stomach. I can describe the pain as "piercing and as if I could feel a heart beat ". I didn't eat too much but at night I was feeling hungry even though I still had the pain. Before I felt hungry, I was feeling nauseous, but I didn't throw up. Then the pain went away. When I woke up (today Tuesday) I feel a weird sensation. As if I had a lot of air in my stomach. It's not painful but this sensation kinda bothers me. But what huts is that my esophagus is burning. I am just hoping I won't get that pain again. Also, it's not the first time that my stomach burns. I frequently get this. I have just drank a glass of orange juice today and it has started to burn. When I eat some other food it burns as well. For example, when I eat liver or food prepared with too much oil.
But I am worried now because stomach pain for more than 2 days is not normal, I guess. It's also important to say that I got surgery when I was 13 years old because doctors thought I was suffering from appendicitis. However, it ended up being diverticulitis. The doctor said this kind of illness is very strange in young people. I am afraid that the current pain might be related to this. Thank you so much in advance.
Best regards
Alexandra
