Hello Doctor My Kid Is 2 Years 6 Months He

Hello doctor my kid is 2 years 6 months he was having fever and minor cold from yesterday so she is been prescribed with meftal p syrup 3-4 ml, 4-5 hours once, fever is reducing upto normal but after 3 hours again increasing... Is it safe to continue with meftal p 4 ml in above interval or you advice some other treatment. Cold started yesterday morning & Fever started yesterday evening & reached upto 102f in night.
Please advice!!!
