Hello doctor...my husband is 38 years old and we both are dentists.for last 3 months my husband had been having body aches ,pain in legs ( which were disturbing his sleep),pain in shoulder blades, numbness in fingers and toes ,nausea feeling, weight loss(around 10 kgs ) ,lethargic(what he was not previously),bleeding while passing out stools, one or the other symptoms almost regularly bt he was working...we got all the tests done...doctors suggested vit b12 deficiency...vit d3 deficiency...and he started taking medicine for that...which are normal now...body tests also showed increased SGOT(42),increased ESR(26),triglycerides serum (229), high LDL (106),low HDL (31.3), high VLDL (45.8), low T4(4.0) ,low Hb (12.8),low hematocrit (38.1), decreased neutrophils (33), increased lymphocytes (60) ,decreased pH of urine(5) ,increased GGT and microalbumin .... Ultrasound showed slight hepatomegaly and renal concretions and stones in left kidney which were insignificant as per doctors ....and also there was mild cervical spondylosis...but no significant improvement after b12 and all....then suddenly 2 weeks back he had problem in vision ...left eye vision was impaired and black shadow was there in left peripheral vision.....MRI was done and to our shock it was pituitary macroadenoma of size 3.2 cms with hemorrhage in tumor...doctor asked to start with prednislone 10 mg and thyronorm 50 mcg....and he went through TNTS endoscopic removal of tumor 4 days after that which according to doctors was a very clean and smooth surgery....now it's been 10 days after the surgery...he is very weak....bt my concern is numbness before the surgery he had....and still after the surgery 2-3 times he felt numbness either in hand or feet which went away after SOME time....what could be the reason of numbness and does he have to take hormonal replacement for the whole life....aren't there any chances of stopping these replacements whether after months or years...and will he be able to lead a normal life again
