Hello, In The Opening Of My Vagina There Is A

Hello, in the opening of my vagina there is a large pink, tissue like, skin that blocks my vaginal hole. It is rather thick and squishy, and prevents me from being able to see an actual hole in my vagina. I am not sexually active, nor have I ever been, so I you may think hymen, but this is very thick, and when using certain types of tampons the tampon gets stuck on this tissue. I was just wondering what this was, and if I need to get it surgically removed. Thank you.
