Hello, My Boyfriend Was Fine Yesterday But When He Woke

Hello, my boyfriend was fine yesterday but when he woke up today he was vomiting constantly, drinking water, ever 20 minutes he would vomit more and by the sound of it a lot was coming out. It sounded really painful and he said he's never been sick like this before. He is experiencing what he describes as pins and needles in his body, mainly in his arms and legs. He has been writhing in pain all day. I am really scared and have been around him all day. I am afraid if it's contagious, and/or if it will get worse for him. Please could you advise me on this and thank you for listening.
