Hello My Fiance Is Experiencing A Lot Of Pain On

Hello my fiance is experiencing a lot of pain on the right side of his face to the point where he cannot chew or talk without a stabbing type of pain. It is affecting his ear and he says his sinuses as well. Excedrin seems to really help the pain. I looked inside his mouth and there's no redness or swelling. He is currently refusing to go to the DR. It seems to come and go.
