Hello, My Girlfriend Is Currently Experiencing Severe Pain In Her

Hello, my girlfriend is currently experiencing severe pain in her lower abdomen and is currently in her menstrual cycle. I'm away from home at college right now and she wants to know what it could be before a wasted trip to the hospital, against my recommendation for her to just go in case. She occasionally has black menstrual blood and she says it hurts to breathe and is a bit tender to touch. Please give advice as soon as possible. And I will continue to encourage her to go to the hospital.
