Hello My Husband Is Having Major Pain In Stomach Feels

Hello my husband is having major pain in stomach feels the urge to poop but a little soft stool comes out after pushing , so now his butt is raw . I took him to er a few weeks ago and they said he had an infection . Gave him antibiotics and said get a colonoscopy , one is scheduled for Thursday in 2 days . But he is getting worse . I don't know what to do to help . He has lost about 10 lbs also in 1 month and doesn't eat much . Any suggestions ?
