Hello, My Mother Had A Temporary Inability To Swallow Or

Hello, my mother had a temporary inability to swallow or speak. Along with that she kept having to spit out excessive saliva. She also had a pain in the middle of her back. She was eating rice when it happened but had no choking because of it. It lasted about 10 minutes and now she seems fine. What could that have been?
