Hello My Name Is Holly Some Times Before I Start

Hello my name is Holly some times before I start my period. I have serve pain so serve that it effects me from even doing a thing.some times it is so bad I can not move. Is this normal for a 45 year old.I have to take a pain pill just for it to not hurt.
Theses pains some times are sharp pains.The cramps are so bad i just want to scream. oh and I sweet profusely. And out of energy. Taking warm bath out heating pad doses not help. Now it is not like this all the time when I start. But when it doses I am wiped out.
