Hello, Now Is The Time That I Should Be Having

Hello, now is the time that I should be having my period, however starting yesterday, I noticed when I would use the bathroom and wipe there would be a small trace of a bright pink blood. Nothing like a normal period. I don't have any cramps or anything associated with the spotting. What could this be? Is this normal for a period, even if it has never happened?
