Hello Sir. My Daughter Is 2yrs Old. She Is Suffering

Hello sir. My daughter is 2yrs Old. She is suffering from regular cold and cough. She cough more in the sleep and then she vomit. Dr advised her to give monticope syrup twice a day for 2months? Is it safe to use for such long time? And I have observed a small gland type thing in her self side of neck at her 7th month, and it is there it now. What is that exactly? Is that related to her cough ? Pls reply me
