Hello There, I Had A Tonsillectomy On The 4th July.

Hello there, I had a tonsillectomy on the 4th July. It was a painful and really very traumatic experience I would not want to repeat.

I have healed quite fast and well. Been feeling quite normal for about ten days now, although I am quite concerned that my uvula is now lop-sided and my soft palate is uneven. I have a strange taste when I eat certain foods, and I have a sticky 'globby' feeling at the back of my throat.

The back edges of my tongue are lopsided and curling up.

Will this heal? What can I do to assist my healing? I want things to go back to being even.

I feel like the doctor has done a bit of a 'hack job' on removing my tonsils :(

She said my tonsils were very small and covered in white spots when she removed them. Does that mean they were infected at the time of removal?

I had this done in the Dutch Hospital system (I'm from Australia) and it was a very impersonal 'you get who you get' operation.

Thank you for your answer.
