Hello There, My Name Is Michael. I Had My Hernia

Hello there, my name is Michael. I had my hernia surgery today and have been home just on bedrest since. I suppose the cathter they gave me earlier when i was under has affected my normal urination. Which now thankfully is improving. My real issue is this, i now have not had a bowel movement in about 24 hrs. I did take a laxative a few hours ago and most likely will deliver sometime tomrw morn. My doctor also prescribed me some pain medication which i have not taken yet and im hurting now a bit to where im definitely uncomfortable and sleeping this eve will be difficult. If i take one of the pain meds will that really mess me up worse for going to the bathroom later.?
