Hello, This Past Weekend I Began To Experience Severe Pain

Hello, this past weekend I began to experience severe pain in my left ear, behind my left ear and down my jaw. I tolerated it until Saturday and went to the ER. The attending physician said that I had an ear infection and that this would sometimes result in swelling. I have swelling along my jaw that has went down some, but the swelling is still present. What can I do to reduce the swelling. Oh I was put on a Z-Pack....but I only have 2 days left on it....I just want to get well and look like my normal self again. Thanks!
