Hello, Today I Felt A Pain In My Finger Out

Hello, today I felt a pain in my finger out of the blue, when I looked at it there was a bluish spot on the inside of it that hurt fairly badly and was swelling it hurt inside and I had not hit it or smashed it on anything, I rubbed it and flexed my fingers until it stopped hurting it took about five minutes, now it is just tender and looks bruised, I had this exact same thing happen a few months back with my thumb . I was wondering if I should worry?
