Hello...I Had 11 Root Canal Teeth Removed In May This

Hello...I had 11 root canal teeth removed in May this year. Since the healing had occurred I have had (increasingly) a kind of numbness radiating on the inside (right side) of my cheek and now toothless gum area. There is also a small lump inside the middle of inside cheek . Not painful but the whole area is uncomfortable and not right. My tongue keeps wanting to go there to bring back a healthy sensation rather than a feeling that I had just burnt the whole area with hot food.
I am wondering whether I should go back to the dentist and try to find out what it is. Though it is a long way from where I live and the last time ( a few months ago) when I asked about this I was told it might be the nerves trying to regenerate themselves. I am not convinced and feeling slightly anxious. I wonder if you have any advice or ideas as to what this could be. Thank you in advance.
