Hello...I Have Been Using My CPAP For Three Years Now.

Hello...I have been using my CPAP for three years now. I seem to get a lot of clearer colored mucus that causes me some coughing fits several times throughout the day. I frequently clean my machine and it uses distilled water in a humidifier with a heated hose. Is there something I can do to stop coughing and gagging frequently?
