Hello,my Mother ,aged 40,is Suffering From Inflammation Which Has Caused

Hello,my mother ,aged 40,is suffering from inflammation which has caused swelling in left hand,arm and upper part of back near neck.But a huge amount of pain only in left hand up-till wrist.What's the reason for it?Is there any treatment for it.And i also require a quick remedy for her so that she can sleep now which she is unable to due to increase in pain on lying down.She has taken topenza once , azorb-3 twice in last 6 hrs as prescribed by a doctor here.She also suffers from diabetes.
