Hey I Was Given Codeine To Get Ride Of General

Hey i was given codeine to get ride of general flu pain, and it doesnt seem to be making me feel better at all. I was taking regular panadol before i went to the doctors and it was working fine. The doctor said not to worry about the panadol if im taking codeine but i feel like the panadol would be more beneficial?
