Hey, My Boyfriend Has A Cyst On His Throat/vocal Cords

Hey, my boyfriend has a cyst on his throat/vocal cords and its stretch out pretty far.. the doctors only gave him 2 options ... they can both paralysis his vocal cords... one is a injection and the other is surgery I love 5 hours away from him.. I can't seem to process this... I need answers
